Oak Hill Properties Introduces ‘Green’ Houses of the Future
Rockville, Maryland, July 30, 2010 - Oak Hill Properties of Rockville, Maryland, a residential and community developer of single family homes and an affiliate of Lerner Enterprises also of Rockville, Washington, D.C.’s largest private real estate developer, has introduced their first energy star new construction homes in Royal Oaks, a master planned community in New Market, Frederick County, Maryland, and Round Hill, a master-planned development in Purcellville, Loudoun County, Virginia. The first single family home in Royal Oaks passed with a value of 98.
The houses were designed as part of the Lerner and Oak Hill Green Initiative Program that, in addition to being environmentally friendly, focuses special attention on energy and resource conservation. The homes include low “e” windows, reflective roofing materials, increased insulation made of earth friendly products in the walls and roof, advanced construction techniques to reduce air infiltration, reinforced caulking and flashing around windows and doors among installing Energy Star appliances and lighting to reduce carbon footprints.
