Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher Expands and Signs Lease Extension at
Washington Square

Washington, D.C., February 1, 2012 - Lerner Enterprises, Washington, D.C.’s largest private real estate developer, and The Tower Companies, the largest Green Builders in the Nation’s Capital, both of Rockville, Maryland, announced today that the law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, LLP, has signed a long-term lease extension and will expand their offices at Washington Square to 205,000 square feet.  The award-winning 1,000,000 square foot landmark office building is located at 1050 Connecticut Avenue at L Street, NW, with immediate access to the Farragut North Metro Station in the heart of Washington’s Central Business District.

“This extension and expansion further solidifies our longtime relationship, and we are delighted that Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher will continue to call Washington Square their home for many years to come,” added Mark D. Lerner, a principal of Lerner Enterprises. “Washington Square offers the location, amenities and distinction that so many companies desire” he added.

Gibson was represented by Elizabeth K. Cooper of the Washington, D.C. office of Jones Lang LaSalle and Washington Square was represented by Brian F. Tucker and Brian R. Raher of Cushman and Wakefield.  Washington Square currently has 23,000 square feet on the 10th floor and 20,000 square feet on the 12th floor for immediate occupancy and 170,000 square feet available for occupancy beginning in January, 2013.

Washington Square (WashingtonSquareDC.com) was originally developed by Lerner and Tower in 1982 and recently completed a major $14 million dollar common area renovation.  Baker Hostetler, another distinguished law firm and long-term tenant at Washington Square signed a long-term renewal and expanded to 100,000 square feet in 2011.
